Construction ... Destruction (2002) When the construction of a new shopping plaza is destroying the natural habitat in your neighborhood, to whom do you direct your woeful cries? As a 10-year-old environmentalist worrywart, I created this video poem, testing my agency and calling upon authorities figures in whom, as an adult, I no longer place my faith. Construction Destruction marks a turning point in my life, as it earned me successful admission into a public magnet middle school for the arts, which laid a winding yet clear path to becoming the ecologically conscious artist I am today.
