Why Girls/Why Femmes/Why Womxn at Why World

From where does your femme power resonate? Your body? Your mind? Your labor? The earth? The sun? A radiant spectrum? What are your lunar longings; your yonic yens? How can we respectfully pay tribute to the femmes of the past who paved our way? What assumptions do we still need to smash? How do we tease apart the intertwined systems of oppression? How can we collectively render an understanding of something as potent as femininity and womxnhood?

From Feb 14-21st, we will transform Why World into a living, breathing, oozing, bubbling body. Considering the space as both a traditional gallery, as well as recognizing the domestic connotations of the layered home, we hope to bring a conscious investigation of femme empowerment into every nook and cranny. Since femme power has many meanings, faces, genders and identities, we strive to embrace a wide spectrum of interpretations. Let's question our embodied ways of knowing TOGETHER!
